If you were looking forward to the 2024 Atlantic City Airshow, sadly, it’s been cancelled.

If you remember earlier this year there were reports that the Airshow didn’t have enough funding and that the future was unknown.

That’s when we got the good news that the South Jersey Transportation Authority was stepping in and providing $300,000 to help fund the big event, according to the Patch.

However, “due to a major act withdrawing” the Airshow has now been officially cancelled.

“We regret to announce the cancellation of the 2024 Visit Atlantic City Airshow due to a major act withdrawing from the Airshow, the Greater Atlantic City Chamber, in association with Visit Atlantic City and the South Jersey Transportation Authority,” said in a joint statement. “This decision was not made lightly, and we understand the disappointment it may cause. We extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all who have supported this event over the past number of years."

For years the Airshow has brought millions of people to Atlantic City, around 500,000 last year alone, bringing in millions of dollars to the local economy, according to reports.

It would get packed, but somehow we always managed to find parking and a good spot on the boardwalk or the beach to watch the show.

I went with my family a few times and it was always SO exciting. We would have the best time. The cancellation has left people very disappointed, it will certainly be missed.

The Airshow was going to be held 2 days in mid-August, the 13th and 14th.
