A necessary addition is coming to Holmdel.

It was just announced that the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs is in the final stages of approving a brand new Emergency Care Center at the Bayshore Medical Center.

The center will be located on the Garden State Parkway side and according to APP.com, "will provide necessary space for medical staff to care for patients in a 'comfortable and private environment,' and will feature 35 patient bays, swing space with capacity for pediatric care, and new imaging equipment for the center's patients."

"Bayshore Medical Center is an integral part of the community and Hackensack Meridian Health continually seeks ways to better care for our patients," said Robert C. Garrett, chief executive of Hackensack Meridian Health.

"Our plans to expand the Emergency Care Center address the needs of the people we serve by providing the best, state-of-the-art technology and an exceptional design that would lend itself to world-class care, comfort and privacy.”

After this new care center is built, the current emergency room in Bayshore Medical Center will be relocated to the front of the building which I must admit, does make a lot of sense.
