One of the true blue heroes has passed away this week in Berkeley Township as Police Chief Karin DiMichele announces the sudden death of Sergeant Alison Wray at the age of 32 last week.

Wray suffered a stroke while serving in the line of duty just a couple days before passing away on Friday November 3.

On the force since 2008, Wray who wore badge #104 quickly began to climb the ranks inside the department by later graduating the Atlantic County Police Academy before taking an assignment with BTPD's patrol division.

Wray climbed to the rank of Sergeant in 2015, before she passed away.

The mom of two children 2-year old Harrison and 4-year old Henry as well as two step-children 11-year old Cole and 15-year old Regan, Wray also leaves behind her fiancé Sergeant Henry Ganska who served on the force with her at BTPD.

A Go-Fund-Me page has now been set up for the family.

"Alison had an amazing set of parents who loved her children dearly.  Alison was a mother beyond belief, she often joked about being the stereotypical "PTA Mother" and often was very eccentric, to say the least, about proper care for her children," a family member wrote on the page. "

Alison passed peacefully and quickly in the hospital after a stroke while she was on duty, and was able to hear her children's voices before she left us. Alison always put her children first, and now our family will do the same for her."

"Sergeant Wray was known for her intelligence, compassion and dedication to her officers whom she considered family," Chief DiMichele said on the departments Facebook page. "Please keep Sergeant Wray’s family in your thoughts and prayers as they mourn their loss.  Please also keep the officers and civilian staff at Berkeley Township in your prayers as they have lost a great officer, a great leader, great public servant and a great friend."

Condolences also poured in from her brothers and sisters in blue.
