Adam Lambert performed an acoustic set for an intimate crowd of fans on The Point Sound Stage Friday.

The American Idol season eight runner-up played his popular hits "Better Than I Know Myself" and "What Do You Want From Me?" wile fielding a variety of questions from the audience.

Lambert touched on a recent vacation to Bora Bora and his desire to someday collaborate with David Bowie. He also noted his sadness at the recent death of singer Whitney Houston.

Lambert also discussed his time on American Idol, explaining that he occasionally sees some of his former cast mates and crediting the show's music directors with his powerful performances on the show.

He also talked about the show's then-producer Simon Cowell.

"I actually don't know him well at all," Lambert said, noting that his only real conversation with Cowell was the week he picked a song for him to sing on the show.

The singer-songwriter recently announced that his follow-up album, Trespassing, has been delayed until later in the spring.

"It got pushed a little bit," Lambert said. "I'm just trying to get it right."

After his performance, Lambert posed for pictures with fans.
