If you've purchased Blue Cheese lately, check this recall before you eat it.

If you bought the following type of cheese, you are being asked to throw it out, and bring your receipt in for a refund.

Lysteria has been found in some samples taken by testers of Maytag blue cheese, so Whole Foods has issued a recall nationwide.

Meanwhile, Maytag Dairy Farms has voluntarily suspended production and distribution.The FDA is investigating.

The cheese being recalled was sold, cut, and packaged in clear plastic wrap with scale labels in different weights.

The labels say "Maytag Blue Raw Milk,", "Maytag Blue", or "Maytag Iowa Blue Cheese". The PLU numbers begin with 293308. the 'sell by' dates are 1/20/2016 through 3/21/16.

Whole Foods is issuing the recall just as a precaution, even though no one so far has actually gotten sick from eating the cheese.

But Listeria has been known to cause high fever, nausea, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. It is most dangerous to pregnant women, and can cause miscarriages and stillbirths. Listeria can also be very dangerous to those suffering with immune system issues and can be serious or fatal.
