Do you remember the store where you got your ears pierced as a kid?

For many of us, myself included, it was Claire's.

I just heard they're closing several locations across the country, including some in New Jersey.

While it's not the end of Claire's entirely, it definitely feels like the end of a chapter for a store that was part of so many childhood memories.

It was always my go-to spot, especially this time of year, when I would stop in to pick up a new pair of earrings for the first day of school, or a new keychain to attach to my backpack.

With so many other options available now, Claire's has been struggling for years, filing for bankruptcy earlier this month.

Claire's will be closing nearly 300 stores in the United States, with seven locations here in New Jersey.

New Jersey Claire's Locations Closing

Here's a list of the 7 stores closing in the Garden State:

2701 Bergen Town Center in Paramus

1750 Deptford Ctr Road in Deptford

141 East Broad Street in Westfield

4403 Black Horse Pike in Mays Landing

755 Rt 18 in East Brunswick

3849 South Delsea Drive in Vineland

2702 Willowbrook Mall in Wayne

According to USA Today, the actual dates of when the stores will actually close haven't been disclosed yet, but they're expected to be on "a rolling basis."

I guess we can expect to start seeing going-out-of-business sales soon.

With so many trends of the 1990's back in style, it's a great time to look back at a strong foundation of 80's and 90's culture — New Jersey mall shopping. Some stores were a highlight, every trip.
