Here's a working woman who runs a successful business in Red Bank with her husband and whose mission is to end drug addiction and hunger while helping other women along the way. No wonder she has taken the crown!

Kristina Henderson, who grew up in Colts Neck and now lives in Pine Beach, is the first Mrs. New Jersey American!

Kristina a 'modern' type of pageant winner, if you will, since she is the CEO of a company in Red Bank at just 29-year-old! She will compete in Las Vegas next year for the National Mrs. American title.

“I am honored to represent my great state of New Jersey, and I plan to make the most of my reign by empowering other women to start their own businesses and take their existing companies to the next level.”

Kristina leads  a certified U.S. Woman-Owned Small Business and speaks from experience, having become an international leader in the world of the products she sells (printed apparel and promotional products.)

She says she looks forward to sharing her knowledge of entrepreneurship and best business practices with women throughout our state. Her goal is to elevate women in the workforce by promoting mentorship among women, advocating for other female business owners, and helping to create other women-owned businesses with guidance and support.

Kristina also plans to help spread awareness about hunger and opioid addiction in our community (her brother-in-law died of an overdose.) She will be working closely with Fulfill (The Food Bank of Monmouth and Counties) and Tigger House Foundation, an organization dedicated to combatting drug addiction.

Kristina graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism. She serves on the Girl Scouts of America's Phenomenal Women Under 40 Committee, where she inspires young girls to be leaders in the community.

Kristina is also the Co-Founder of “The Giving Back Forum” - an event that brings together 65+ non-profits in the community to one space, where they can learn from one another, share resources, and promote awareness for their causes.

But she has had quite an interesting life  even before all of this. After graduating from Colts Neck High School, Kristina took classes at Brookdale Community College before becoming a flight attendant at the age of 19, and then went on to be a television news producer! Wow!

When Kristina's not working, she says she enjoys spending time with her husband, Barton Henderson (co-owner of her company, Henderson Promos) and her two dogs, Gatsby and Kona, at the Jersey Shore.

Kristina believes that women rising should reach out and help other women. For that, I thank you, Kristina. You are an amazing role model for our community.
