Here at the Shore, we've seen businesses come and go. Others have remained constants in our lives. These are the ones we never thought would close their doors. Sadly, after over 40 years of good food and even better memories, a neighborhood gem said goodbye today.

These were the types of smiles you were used to seeing every time you walked into Cozy's Kitchen on Herbertsville Road in Brick.

It all started 41 years ago with "Rosie's Cozy Kitchen" on Route 88. If you have roots in Brick you may have remembered calling it or heard it referred to as "Bob and Lori's."

Seven years later the restaurant moved to its Herbertsville Road location. This was always a welcomed sight on the busy Brick road.

What made Cozy's special was it truly was a neighborhood eatery. As the local landmark mentioned on Facebook, this is where area residents made friends and even made lifelong partners.

This is where kids stopped after a game to grab a cone and a prize from the treasure chest.

And of course, who can forget the epic game nights?

Thanks to a great partnership with Ocean County Gamers Enclave, there were over 65 different board games to play.

The restaurant was in its name. Cozy. I never had a bad meal and according to reviews, I'm not alone. Cozy's has a 4.6-star review on Google. For any restaurant, that's really good.

Have driven by this place for YEARS and finally stopped in for lunch. The food and service were excellent. The place is small but that's why they call it "Cozy". This is one of my favorites.

Why is Cozy's closing? They didn't exactly say on social media, but it has been an incredibly trying time for restaurants. Especially recently when it has come to finding staff.

The past few years have been difficult for everyone and the decision has been made to sell the property.

Sunday, October 3rd will be our last day of operation and we would like to take this opportunity to say thank you.

In many ways, the atmosphere of a business is largely dependent upon its clientele. Throughout the year's many friendships have been formed and we have learned many things from our customers. Hopefully, we were able to offer some advice that was helpful to you our patrons as well. Words cannot express gratitude for all the years that you have supported us.

Thank you, Cozy's for all of the great meals and memories. We will miss you.
