Did Your Favorite One-Hit-Wonder Make the List?

Toni Basil’s “Mickey,” Cheryl Lynn’s “Got to be Real,” Devo’s “Whip It,’ and Tommy Tutone’s “867-5309/Jenny” (didn’t need the area code in 1981) rank among some of the catchiest tunes.  Admit it, there is a place in our musical hearts for the “One Hit Wonder.”  I like the fact that Merriam-Webster has a formal definition, so allow me to share…”a performer, group, etc., that is popular or successful only once for a brief time.”  Perhaps some of your favorites made it to the 75 best one hit wonders list.  As I was searching through the selections, I came across some of my favorites that I honestly forgot about…no surprise there.  As the song title and artist popped up on the screen, it immediately took me back to some pretty special moments of my life and it will do the same for you.  Nostalgia is one of the powers behind the artistry of creating music.  So, sit back, relax and click through the list of 75 best one-hit-wonders of all time.
