Here are the most stressful jobs, according to a new survey by www.CareerCast.com:

#5. Police Officer -- Average salary: $54,000 -- Cops are constantly dealing with situations out of their control and have to make split-second life-and-death decisions.

#4. Military General -- Average salary: $196,000 -- While they're not getting shot at like the enlisted soldiers, the fact that many people's lives are in their hands weighs heavily on them.

#3. Airline Pilot -- Average salary: $103,000 -- Pilots work long hours and have to be perfect in all weather conditions.

#2: Firefighter -- Average salary: $45,000 -- Just about every call they get is dangerous. It's life or death every day.

And the number one most stressful job, according to the study:

Enlisted Military Soldier -- Average salary: $36,000 -- What in the world could be more stressful than being on the front lines of war every day?
