Modell's Sporting Goods has been around since 1889. But, shopping habits have changed, and the company reported a loss of $50 million last year.

CEO Mitchell Modell wants to keep his brick and mortar stores alive. However, in order to do that, some people won't be able to go to Mo's.

One of the area locations affected is the Modell's in Englishtown in the Marlboro Plaza.

As reported by NJ 101.5, Modell said in a statement:

We will do whatever it takes to save these stores and protect the communities that we have served and loved for generations. This is not a business, and these are more than associates. Much more. This is a real family, and with a little help, we hope to serve your children, just as we served you, for generations to come.

West Berlin and Woodbridge are the other N.J. locations shutting down.
