I used to fly a little, but only when I had to. Now I don't even want to think about it. I think my fear of flying has won, and it's not easy to break.

My wife wants to travel, and who can blame her. So do I, but then I start thinking about the plane ride and it makes me drop the conversation immediately. It's hard to describe, but it's not really something I feel like I can control.

And I know the whole 'it's the safest way to travel" theory and I get it, and I believe it. But in my mind, that doesn't change a thing. I'm no psychologist, but I don't think you can fix an irrational fear with rational thoughts. I may be wrong about that, but it doesn't work for me.

What I'd like to do is hear from you.  If you were afraid to fly, but got over it somehow, please let me know how you did it in the comment section below. I would like to take my wife for a trip that does not involve a boat or car for once! Thanks!
