Going on a first date definitely isn't cheap these days. That's why I always say the best first date spot is a local coffee shop. It won't break the bank, and it's just a way more relaxed atmosphere, so it takes a lot of the pressure off.

If you're out at a restaurant having a big meal and there's very little connection between the two of you, you're pretty much stuck sitting there just waiting for the check to come, and it's not going to be cheap. It's definitely going to cost you!

I was reading about how much money the average person spends on a first date, and it's way more than you would spend on a cup of coffee. I guess most people are still opting for dinner, but you have to be prepared to pay up.

A new survey reveals that the average amount spent on a first date is now $93.

And get this. 39.9% of respondents admit to going on a first date mainly to get a free meal out of it, and another 27.5% would consider going out with someone just for a free dinner.

When it comes to food, New Jersey is known for many things such as pizza and pork roll. Don't count us out when it comes to coffee.

With all the hustle and bustle involved in the average New Jersey resident's day, coffee is essential. It doesn't matter whether you're living in the cities of North Jersey or the vacation spots at the shore.

In fact, as the former owner of two Jersey shore coffee houses, Coffee Dot Comedy in Sea Isle City and the Daily Grind in Ocean Grove, I know firsthand how much people at the Jersey shore love their coffee.
