Former Giants and Jets punter Steve Weatherford is calling for a boycott of Planet Fitness after he posted on his Instagram account he was "unceremoniously kicked out for excessive breathing/grunting."

The retired Weatherford posted that he has worked out in more than 1,000 gyms around the world and has never been asked to "tone it down," or encountered a facility with a siren that goes off when someone breathes heavily during their workout.

"I live this life and share my journey in fitness to inspire, encourage, and motivate others. It seems #PlanetFitness has an alternative agenda," Weatherford wrote. "IT MUST STOP!!!!!!"

In a video with his post, Weatherford apologizes for being a "savage" and laughs as he says he'll "never be back."

Planet Fitness promotes itself as having "no gymtimidation" and "no lunks," with each location having a  "Lunk Alarm." Founder Pete Hopkins said in a previous interview that the alarm has a "beacon light and siren, is intended to deter members from the hard-core, look-at-me behavior found in too many gyms."
