Popular Clothing Store Celebrates Grand Opening at Freehold Raceway Mall This Weekend

If you’re doing some back-to-school shopping, updating the closet for fall, or just looking for an excuse to wander around Freehold Raceway Mall, there’s a brand-new store (kind of) you’re going to want to check out.

And they’re making a pretty big deal out of their arrival.

The new store officially opened Wednesday, but the real celebration runs through Sunday, August 16, with some pretty cool freebies and special events planned.

There’s food involved, which immediately gets my attention.

Viral New York cake vendor The Dot Cakes will be giving shoppers one complimentary dot cake with any purchase, while supplies last.

So, who is the mystery retailer?

It’s Gap.

Yep, one of the biggest names in American casual fashion is now open on Level 1 in the lower-level Dick’s House of Sport wing at Freehold Raceway Mall.

I actually love seeing a familiar name like Gap joining the mall’s lineup. Some stores instantly take you back, and for me, Gap is one of them. Jeans, hoodies, T-shirts, and those everyday basics that somehow become the things you wear constantly.

Gap has been around for more than five decades, and its Freehold location adds another major retailer to a mall that already includes Apple, Levi's, Jack & Jones, Zara, Primark, lululemon, L.L. Bean, Sephora, Macy’s and DICK’s House of Sport.

This is a fun addition, and mall officials are telling me more new store announcements are coming soon.

Freehold Raceway Mall is located at 3710 Route 9 in Freehold.

Not a bad weekend to do a little shopping. And apparently, eat some cake while you’re doing it.
