Kohr's 'The Original' has been serving up frozen goodness since 1919. To celebrate 100 years in business, they're throwing a huge party and giving away free frozen custard!

Friday, May 17 from 5-7 p.m., Kohr’s will give out free custard at the Boardwalk & Franklin Avenue location in Seaside Heights. Proceeds and donations will benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Kohr's Frozen Custard The Original has a rich history. Current owner Greg Kohr's Grandfather started the business with his brothers in Coney Island, NY back in 1919. It was then that Greg's Grandfather, Elton, realized that when you add egg yolks to ice cream it wouldn't melt so fast. Just like that frozen custard was invented, and Kohr's stores started popping up all over New Jersey and the surrounding areas.
