There's a lot to consider when choosing the right college, and for many students, staying closer to home is a major factor.

Fortunately, New Jersey offers plenty of outstanding options, making it easier to find the perfect fit without having to go very far.

U.S. News and World Report analyzed more than 2,000 schools from nearly 100 countries to find the best Global Universities, with New Jersey being home to 7 of the top-ranked schools, according to NJ.com.

With Harvard University ranking #1 on the list, Princeton University came in at #16 and is considered the top school in New Jersey.

"Research institutions are judged based on several factors, including measures of a university’s global and regional research reputation, along with academic research performance. To be considered for a ranking, schools must have met a minimum threshold of at least 1,250 research papers published between 2019 to 2023," according to NJ.com.
