In April, local police departments were cracking down on distracted driving and handing out steep fines. Now, it's 'Click It or Ticket' season and some towns in Monmouth and Ocean are getting overtime grants to enforce the seat belt law.

If you're driving without a seat belt, not only are you always at risk for getting a summons, but you're risking your life. However, May 20 through June 2, police will be targeting drivers without seat belts. And they will not be messing around. According to NJ Advanced Media, last year NJ police handed out 19,659 seat belt citations in only two-weeks!

New Jersey police have received over a half-million dollars in overtime grants for this year's 'Click It or Ticket' campaign. If you're not buckling up, make sure you start, especially in these towns.
