On Tuesday, the New Jersey Department of Education released a list of every NJ public school ranked from 0-100. How did Monmouth and Ocean fare?

First, let's take a look at what went into these rankings.

For high schools:

  • Four-year graduation rate: 20%
  • Five-year graduation rate: 20%
  • Progress toward English language proficiency: 20%
  • English proficiency: 15%
  • Math proficiency: 15%
  • Chronic absenteeism: 10%

For elementary and middle schools:

  • English language arts growth: 20%
  • Math growth: 20%
  • Progress toward English language proficiency: 20%
  • English language arts proficiency: 15%
  • Math proficiency: 15%
  • Chronic absenteeism: 10%

Knollwood School in the Fair Haven Boro district ranked highest in Monmouth County and third overall in the state. Monmouth County Vocational's Communications High School was right behind.

Ocean County Vocational's Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science was tops for the county.
