We were all ready for some fun this weekend. Of course, we will be celebrating Mom on Sunday, but on Saturday I was all about the Toms River Food Fest in downtown Toms River.  I mean, hello…it is a FOOD FEST!  What could be better than eating your face off on the weekend?  We will have to wait for this one guys...

Well, I hate to be the barrier of bad news but the Toms River Food Fest has been officially canceled.  The weather is supposed to get pretty nasty over the next 48 hours. We’ll get up to three inches of rain, storm surge along the coast and thunder and lightning as well.  Winds are expected to be up to 55 mph so that does not lead to an enjoyable outdoor feasting experience.

The rain date was for Mother’s Day but that will be rained out too.

Instead of planning another date, it is just going to be canceled this year.  Boooooooo.

Sunday will have rain and temperatures in the mid-50s.

Just be super-carful with the coastal flooding and water creeping onto the roadways.  We all know that  Water Street is appropriately named and floods easily.

Here are some stellar indoor places to get your eating on in New Jersey this weekend.  There are plenty of great spots below to keep Mom nice and happy on Mother's Day.  Here's a tip, don't forget the chocolate, wine and of course a very sappy card either! In Jersey we don't let a little rain get in our way do we?  Happy Mother’s Day!
