According to a recent report by Bisnar Chase law firm, certain decorations are more hazardous than others.
Extra caution is needed when setting up and taking down Christmas trees, as well as when hanging and taking down holiday lights.
Electrical shocks and fire hazards are also real dangers.
Turns out, glass ornaments are the most dangerous holiday decoration, accounting for 53% of decoration-related injuries, making them the single most hazardous decoration found in homes this time of year, according to the study.
Avoiding Holiday Decoration Hazards
Some more key takeaways, when it comes to safety, 39% of those polled say they're very safety-conscious, and another 39% are somewhat careful, while the remaining 22% admit they take shortcuts or don't think about safety at all.
It's a good reminder to be extra careful this time of year; the last thing you want is to end up in the hospital instead of ringing in the New Year with family and friends.
