Holiday Happenings at the Jersey Shore This Weekend
Downtown Toms River Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony takes place Friday, December 1st from 5 to 7 p.m. at Town Hall Court Yard. Enjoy live holiday music, Christmas carols, magic, the Night Before Christmas, Mr. and Mrs. Claus, and food and dessert trucks.
Belmar Tree Lighting December 1st at Pyanoe Plaza 5:30 to 8 PM with candy canes, hot cocoa, Santa and more.
Friday, December 1st it is Free Movie Friday at the Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park. The feature film, Goonies. Doors open at 7, film starts at 7:30.
Need to burn off some of those Thanksgiving calories? Saturday, December 2nd it’s the Annual Jingle Bell 5K Run benefiting the Arthritis Foundation. Dress as your favorite holiday character. Registration starts at 8 a.m. at Bar Anticipation in Lake Como.
Saturday, enjoy Red Bank Holiday Harmonies in downtown Red Bank with live carolers, choirs, brass bands, handbells, rock, folk, and jazz musicians as they bring their individual flavor of holiday tunes to the sidewalks of Red Bank! Every Saturday between now and December 23rd from 12:00 pm to 3:00 p.m.
Saturday, Santa Claus will visit Middletown on a ferry instead of a train. The township’s Santa Ferry Ride will be held on, December 2nd. The yuletide ride aboard the new Molly Pitcher features visits from Santa and friends, caroling, goodie bags, and a wonderful scenic view of the Statue of Liberty. Ferries leave and return to the NY Waterway Belford Ferry Terminal at 10 Harbor Way. Pre-registration is required.
Come and celebrate the holiday season at Cattus Island County Park’s 5th annual Winter Solstice Celebration, December 2nd from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the newly renovated Cooper Environmental Center. Admission to the event and all activities are FREE including horse & carriage rides, live raptor presentation, candy cane nature walk, camp fire, fresh pine swags to make, gift auction, crafts for kids, face painting, vendors with seasonal items for sale, food …and a special visit from Santa!

Colts Neck’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held on Sunday, December 3rd at Colts Neck Town Hall with a special holiday concert starting at 3:30 and the tree lighting at 4:15 p.m. with hot cocoa, candy canes and donuts.
