How to Report a Power Outage to JCP&L From Your Phone

When the power goes out at the Jersey Shore, it's important to let the right people know so that crews can get working to get the lights back on!

There's a few easy ways to do it right from your phone.

JCP&L has three ways to do it:

1. Call 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877).
2. Text the word REG to LIGHTS (544487). That will get you registered for their text service. Then text the word OUT to the same number (544487) to report the outage.
3. Go to firstenergycorp.com/mobile.html then click "report outage" and follow the instructions. (Note: That link goes to their mobile website. The desktop site is HERE, and reporting an outage through the desktop site requires you to log in to your online JCP&L account.)

And of course, if you see a downed wire, whether you know it's live or not, do not approach or touch it. Also important to note that in that case, you are asked to call them, instead of filling out the online form.
