Three young boys and their teenage sister have been left to grow up without their mother after authorities say she was killed with a belt around her neck.

An Ocean County grand jury on Wednesday handed up an indictment against Gustavo Juarez-Perez, 38, of South Toms River, on charges of first-degree murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon.

He has been locked up in Ocean County Jail since his arrest on March 8, when authorities discovered the body of his wife, Cheyanne Juarez, 30, in their home.

Responding officers found the hospital worker on the floor with a bloodied face and a belt around her neck.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Facebook, some acquaintances mourned the victim as a member of their church community.

A GoFundMe campaign for the victim's children, who are 3, 10, 11 and 15, described her as the "kindest, most caring, hardworking, and funniest women we had the privilege of knowing and loving.

"She dedicated her life to helping others as an employee at our local hospital, always putting her coworkers before herself. Above all, she worked tirelessly to provide for her children and give them the best life possible."
