It's not what you thought it would be.

Many people were bummed to find out that Super Foodtown in Ocean Township was closing last July.  Since then, it's been an empty building waiting to be transformed.

You've shared so many ideas about what should replace the former supermarket.  Lots of people wanted to see another grocery store in its place, like Market Basket.  Grocery Outlet has also been making its way out here, that would have been a great option to open.  Remember when Corrado's was supposed to open in Brick?  I know some of you would've liked to see it finally happen in this spot.

But, a new supermarket is not replacing the old Super Foodtown at 1560 Route 35.  It is another store, but I bet it's one you didn't think of.

According to the What's Going There in Monmouth and Ocean Counties Facebook Group, Floor & Decor is taking over the former grocery store.  Users in the group note that signs promoting the new store are posted in the area.

Per Floor & Decor's website, they're a retailer of hard surface flooring that carries stone, tile, and wood floors, as well as floor-related accessories.  They also claim to create a local shopping experience at every store.

This isn't the first Floor & Decor in the area.  Just a few years ago, the flooring store replaced the former Kmart on Route 37 in Toms River.  Other NJ locations include Moorestown, Elizabeth, Wayne, and Paramus.

How do you feel about Floor & Decor replacing Super Foodtown?
