Something has happened in New Jersey. One minute we were squeezing every last bit out of summer, and now suddenly everyone is talking about pumpkins, costumes, haunted houses and everything spooky.

Yep… New Jersey is officially obsessed with fall and Halloween.

And honestly, can you blame us?

Walk through almost any New Jersey neighborhood right now and you are likely to see houses getting dressed up for Halloween. Some decorations are simple. Others look like they belong in a full-blown horror movie.

Then there are the pumpkins. We want the perfect one for the front porch, the perfect one for carving and, let's be honest, sometimes we just want an excuse to visit a farm and take a million pictures.

Halloween Has Taken Over New Jersey

Across the state, Halloween events are everywhere, from pumpkin patches and fall festivals to haunted attractions and costume events. Even the Jersey Shore gets in on the spooky fun, with thousands recently turning out for the annual Asbury Park Zombie Walk.

And then there are the costumes.

This year, nostalgic characters, pop culture, Y2K looks and spooky favorites are all expected to be big.

But here's the real question:

What are YOU obsessed with right now?

Pumpkin everything? Halloween decorations? Haunted hayrides? Fall food? Cozy sweatshirts? Or are you still refusing to admit summer is over?

Whatever your answer, there's one thing we can probably agree on: New Jersey knows how to do fall.
