NJ Governor Sherrill Tours The Damage At BJ’s Wholesale In Ocean Township
It was one of the biggest stories this week here in New Jersey as a BJ's Wholesale store in Ocean Township had it's roof partially collapse following heavy rain here in the Garden State.

Heavy rain moved across New Jersey, bringing flash flooding, flooded roads, and plenty of headaches for drivers. Some areas picked up several inches of rain in just a few hours, leaving streets underwater and causing damage to homes and businesses. It was one of those storms that reminded us just how quickly summer weather can change here in the Garden State.
This week's powerful storms created a frightening moment at the BJ's Wholesale Club in Ocean Township when part of the roof suddenly gave way during the torrential rain. Water poured into the store as shoppers and employees rushed outside.
It was definitely a scary scene, but the best news is that everyone made it out safely without serious injuries. It's one of those stories that shows just how fast severe weather can turn dangerous here in New Jersey.
According to app.com, "On Tuesday, Gov. Mikie Sherrill visited the site, which is closed for the near future. Asked by a reporter what her initial gut reaction to the collapsed roof was, she said, "I'm a mom of four kids. In my world, everyone goes to BJ's or Costco, so you could just see your family there."
In addition, ""There are a lot of impervious surfaces. We have to protect our watersheds and open spaces, clear the drainage pipes," Sherill said. "We have to make sure water is flowing, that it has a place to go."
