One of the Best Kept Secrets in NJ, a Beach, Trail, and More Close By
I love these little hidden secret places in New Jersey.
New Jersey is so crowded in the summertime, I love when we find quaint, quiet places that are so beautiful.
Here's another spot I just found out about and it's one of the best kept secrets in Garden State. This time of the year is the perfect place to visit this place.
Where is one of the best kept secrets in NJ with a beach, trail, and close by?
According to onlyinyourstate.com, this is in the woods in New Jersey and during the summer, you will love the smell of the fresh sea air. Hartshorne Woods Park with trail called Rocky Point Loop Trail. Along the trail, there are several things to check out and explore a little history along the way. While walking on this trail you'll pass a small beach, a fishing pier, and so much more.
The trail is a three mile trail and surprises along the way.
Hartshorne Woods Park is located at 1402 Portland Road in Highlands, NJ. Hartshorne Woods is a part of the Monmouth County Park System.
There are several trails you can choose from but Rocky Point Loop Trail to me seems to be the best because it's the shortest trail. But inside this park there is so much to check out and if you love hiking this seems to be the perfect place.
From the Rocky Point Loop Trail website:
Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 1 h 11 min to complete. This is a very popular area for birding, hiking, and mountain biking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
