It's always so sad when one of these animals we are so used to seeing, passes away.

Thanks to the Popcorn Park Animal Refuge Facebook Page: "Today it is with heavy hearts we write that Ty the Snow Leopard has passed away from old age. Ty was a very special senior boy and though he is missed dearly, we take comfort in knowing he was provided the very best specialized care with us in his golden years. Through the years he spent with us we took pride in providing him with senior veterinary care, nutritious foods, and all the TLC he could want in his retirement! We are so thankful for everyone's support of Ty throughout his golden years and that he lived out the rest of his days in peace and comfort."

This is why we love the Popcorn Park Zoo, they do amazing things for animals, old and young. Sad to say I won't see Ty when I visit the zoo. He was so beautiful and fun to watch.

Ty was 14 years old when he came to Popcorn Park in 2020. 14 years old is considered elderly and had a hard time jumping and climbing when he was younger. He had to be very careful when he was younger not to hurt himself. Ty was a special Snow Leopard with special needs that Popcorn Park accommodated to.

If you've been to the zoo in the last couple of years, you might have seen him snacking on a pumpkin or playing with his ball. He loved just taking in the Jersey Shore sunshine.

We all know how loved and how much wonderful care each and every animal that comes to Popcorn Park Zoo gets. It's amazing the incredible people they have working and volunteering at the zoo.

Remember you can always sponsor any animal you choose with the Associated Humane Society, you'll be helping out with so many animals and their needs. I remember when my daughter Abby was younger we sponsored a cat at the shelter at Popcorn Park, it was a lot of fun. We visited with her a lot and got to play with her in their fabulous cat room. It is something your kids will remember.
