VIDEO: New Jersey’s Hezly Rivera Throws Incredible First Pitch At MLB Game
At the 2024 Olympic Games, the United States Women's Gymnastics Team returned to the top of the podium winning eight medals. For the fourth time since 1996, the US Women's Team won the Gold Medal.
The United States Women's Gymnastics Team last won the Gold Medal in the 2016 Olympics. What those two Women's Olympic Gold Medal Winning Teams have in common is both have Gymnasts from New Jersey on the team.
At the 2016 Rio Olympics, Laurie Hernandez was a member of the US Women's Gymnastics Team. Hernandez was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey and her current Hometown list is Old Bridge Township.
Hezly Rivera was one of the members of the US Women's Gymnastics Team that won the Gold Medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Originally born in Hackensack, New Jersey, and her Hometown is Oradell, Rivera trains at the WOGA Gymnastics Club in Plano, Texas.
Even though she is still a High School Student, Rivera is already an accomplished Gymnast with a bright future ahead of her in the sport. Anyone who has watched Gymnastics over the years knows these women can do incredible athletic feats. But Rivera raised the bar on Wednesday Night.
What Did New Jersey's Hezly Rivera Do At The Texas Rangers Game?
Because she trains in Plano, Hezly Rivera was invited to throw out the Ceremonial First Pitch of the Texas Rangers game. While many Olympic Gold Medalists have thrown out the first pitch before a Professional Baseball Game, Rivera set a new high bar.
New Jersey's Rivera didn't just land a flawless Aerial Cartwheel in Jean Shorts and a Rangers Jersey Shirt, but then she proceeded to throw a strike across home plate.
The Rangers Infielder Justin Foscue, who was the Ceremonial First Pitch Catcher, paused in almost shock that she threw a perfect throw after the aerial move.
I'm not sure anyone is going to be able to top what Hezly Rivera pulled off before the Texas Rangers game. Plus, the home team won the game 10-6 over the New York Yankees, so Rivera may be good luck as well.
