Prideful and Angry New Jersey Reality Show Cast Shocked About New Series

It looks like New Jerseyans aren't the only ones upset about a new Jersey Shore show.

You know the saying...history repeats itself.  And that's exactly what's happening with the announcement of Jersey Shore 2.0 from MTV.

MTV is looking to film in other Jersey Shore towns.

Earlier this week, I heard rumblings that producers for the reality show were looking for new shore towns to film in.  An article from Lavalette-Seaside Shorebeat spilled that the town of Lavalette rejected them.

It seemed like producers were looking for filming spots for Jersey Shore Family Vacation, a reboot of the original show with the old cast.  But, MTV had a surprise up its sleeves.

It turns out, that the network has plans for a show called Jersey Shore 2.0, according to Deadline.  It looks like they're still in the early stages of planning the show according to the summary from the article:

It’s been 13 years since the iconic cast of Jersey Shore fist-pumped their way into our lives and stole our hearts. Now, the time-honored tradition continues with a new group of roommates moving into their own Shore house. They may have traded their poofs for plumped pouts and UV rays for spray tans, but when things heat up in Jersey, the Shore is still the place to be to make memories all summer long.

 

Not everyone is excited about a new Jersey Shore show.

As you can expect, Jersey Shore residents weren't thrilled to hear that cameras and partygoers would be heading to their towns once again.  This standout quote from a resident in Lavalette-Seaside Shorebeat said: "Oh no, please no Snooki."

But residents aren't the only unhappy ones...per Page Six, the original Jersey Shore cast is upset by the news!  They came together to share the following message:

Am I alone in finding their reactions a little ridiculous?  The above seems like a message you'd share in the wake of a tragedy - not in response to a network that is responsible for your fame.

It's not like the original cast is going anywhere; Jersey Shore Family Vacation was renewed for another season!  This message just seems spiteful, and like they're biting the hand that fed them.

With these dramatics, it's no wonder the Jersey Shore cast has had such a long run on TV.
