When you take a look at the 2020 Atlantic City Christmas show docket, obviously it is extremely light.

While online casino gambling in NJ is booming, COVID-19 restrictions are still in place, casino hotel rooms are still relatively empty during the week, and we are still months away (at a minimum) from a large-scale vaccine rollout.

But there is some hope, if you want to head down to Atlantic City and see a socially-distanced show before the end of 2020.

Sound Waves at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino is putting on Motor City Live - A Motown Christmas over the next few weekends, after it opened on Friday, December 11.

There will be one show on Friday, December 18 (8 p.m.), and then two shows each over the next two Saturdays and Sundays: 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday the 19th and 26th, and Sunday the 20th and 27th. The show then plays Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, December 28-30 at 8 p.m., to test how well the midweek market is going.

It comes with a 100% guarantee as well, in case the show is canceled.

If you are looking for any other live shows at the casinos over the next month and a half, you are out of luck: that is the lone thing on the schedule.

However, there does seem to be some light at the end of the tunnel for people who want to head to Atlantic City and take in a show, before or after hitting the tables or slots and maybe making a weekend of it (even with 25% capacity). Late January has a few more shows listed right now.

Sinbad is set for the Borgata Music Box on Friday, January 29 at 9 p.m., the Atlantic City Ballet does Dracula at the Caesars on Saturday, January 30 at 7 p.m., and Hollywood Nights heads to the Tropicana Showroom on Saturday, February 6 at 8 p.m.

The rest of February, for now, is empty, until the last weekend. Then, the shows and concerts are back, in a big way.

One of the concerts that has been massive over the last decade in and around the Garden State, Freestyle Free for All, is back on Friday, March 5 at 8 p.m. at the Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena. It will be headlined by Samantha Fox, Stevie B,. and TKA/K7, for all the old school freestyle heads out there to get the spring started with a bang.

The end of the month has a hip hop show, Lit in AC, at the Boardwalk Hall Arena, with Lil Kim, Fat Joe, Ja Rule, and State Property on March 20, while Sister Sledge plays the Tropicana Showroom the same night.

April brings the Beach Boys, Daughtry, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Monsta X, and more shows, with others surely to be added in the coming month.

So if you are a fan of the concerts and shows in Atlantic City, hang in there, because they are right around the corner.
