It was truly my honor to stop by the Madison Beggs Kicks 4 Kids event at Soldier Memorial Field in Howell this past Saturday.

The event, in memory of Madison, a Howell girl who lost her battle with cancer last June at age 12, was a huge success. So many of Madison's friends got together to keep a wonderful tradition going. There were plenty of soccer teams involved in the marathon, and even if some of the kids weren't on a soccer team, they teamed up with friends to create one so they could be part of this terrific event.

Kicks 4 Kids is another great example of what a community can do when inspired by the memory of a great friend. Some of Madison's friends joined me on the show last week to talk about the event, and their commitment to the memory of their good friend is genuine and really awesome. Great job!
