Miss America Pageant Returing to Atlantic City
The Miss America pageant is returning to the city "that's always turned on." Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno will make the announcement Thursday.
For 84 years, Atlantic City was home to Miss America. The pageant was originally created for revenue as a way to make the summer season longer for the resort town. In turn, more visitors well into September.
In 2006, the pageant moved to Sin City.
Leaving Atlantic City was such a difficult decision, and we wanted to find a city that had the energy and glamour and excitement that Las Vegas will bring to the pageant.
