The title is "Asbury Park: Riot, Redemption, Rock 'N Roll." and here's where you can see it.

Featuring Bruce Springsteen, Steven Van Zandt, Southside Johnny, David Sancious and more...this is a film with never-before-seen footage that will give you and the younger generation a history of what really happened in Asbury Park before it became hip again.

This film tells the story of the days when Asbury Park was a troubled city and how riots crippled it for 45 years...and also about how the power of music can unite a divided community.

The story revolves around the legendary Upstage club where some of music's most famous people got their start. Here's where the never-before-seen interviews by Bruce Springsteen, Steven Van Zandt,  Southside Johnny Lyon and David Sancious come in.

Closed for four-and-a-half decades, the Upstage remains a perfect time capsule of the club, which united both sides of the tracks in Asbury during the bad times and served as a sanctuary for young talent. Now, as Asbury Park enjoys its long-awaited renaissance, it is music which has brought it back from the dead.

This major theatrical event will also include a bonus feature of never-before-seen footage as Bruce Springsteen, Steven Van Zandt, Southside Johnny and the Upstage All-Stars play a now-legendary concert to a sold-out Paramount Theatre crowd  and trade guitar licks with the future of music in Asbury (a group of 11-year old rockers.)

Director Tom Jones says "It has taken Asbury Park five decades to rise up and stand on the brink of being something better than ever before. We should all listen to the wisdom of lessons learned the hard way and the music which fueled the revival."

So where can you see this amazing film? Well, if you want to catch it before it goes worldwide, it will premiere at The Asbury Park Music & Film Festival on April 28th.

Then it will be released in cinemas around the world on May 22nd and 29th.

A special thank you to local singer-songwriter Joe Petillo, a founding member of the Upstage, for coming on our morning show to talk about this film that he produced. It was our pleasure and we hope to have you at our Asbury Park boardwalk shows on Friday mornings this summer when you're available!
