A Neptune woman who allegedly left her young sleeping daughter in the car while she went shopping is arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a minor.

Police in Monmouth's Ocean Township say when they arrived at the Burlington Coat Factory on State Highway 66 March 23 around 5:35 pm they found the child running around the parking lot and the car door slightly open.

They went inside the store, had the vehicle registration announced and out came the mother.

The investigation discovered that Humu Koroma, 33, left her daughter in the car because she was sleeping and she needed to go shopping.

Koroma was processed after her arrest and released on a criminal summons pending a future court appearance.

The Division of Child Protection and Permanency was notified and would be involved with a follow up investigation.
