A candy chain called River Street Sweets: Savannah’s Candy Kitchen has moved into 550 Cookman Avenue.

I had never heard of River Street Sweets, but apparently the candy shop is a big deal in the south with 21 other locations.

What can we expect from River Street other than the obvious?  They are world-famous for their pralines.

Some people call them Turtles, but River Street calls them Loggerheads.

You'll also find all of your chocolaty favorites, traditional candy, and of course saltwater taffy. They even offer homemade ice cream and pecan pie.

Congratulations to the Mennie family on Asbury Park's new River Street Sweets: Savannah’s Candy Kitchen.
