Among other things, I'm a huge classic rock fan, the library just goes on and on and what's great is when some classic artists release new music.

When Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top released his single My Lucky Card in 2021, I think I listened to it fifty times a day.

Every time Ozzy Osbourne releases a new album, I'll listen through it and even when Guns N Roses released their last album in 2008 I gave it a once-through.

Wasn't my favorite GNR album, but it was cool to hear some new music.

What's even cooler is when a New Jersey native tops the rock charts, and we've seen plenty of that over the years!

With Bon Jovi, The Smithereens, Skid Row, Kool, and the Gang just to name a few there is no lack of talent in the Garden State.

One New Jersey rocker whose name carries some pretty heavy weight is getting ready to release a new album and launch a new tour with his band.

It'll be the artist's first album in just over two years, and it's a pretty unique album.

Instead of doing an album of original music, the record will feature 15 different covers from the 60s and 70s.

So, what New Jersey musician is getting ready to release some new music?

On Only the Strong Survive, Springsteen covers songs performed by the Walker Brothers (“The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine (Anymore)”), Jackie Shane (“Any Other Way”), Jimmy Ruffin (“What Becomes of the Brokenhearted”), and others. ~Pitchfork

Personally, I love when artists release a cover album.

It lets them show off a different side of themselves they normally wouldn't and sometimes the covers end up taking on a life of their own and become more popular than the original!

Bruce Springsteen And The E Street Band Are Also Touring In 2023

The 52-date tour kicks off in Florida, and the US portion ends with a show in Newark New Jersey.

Bruce and the E Street Band will also have a few dates in PA as well as a date in DC, and New York.

You can see the full tour schedule here.

Whether you're a Springsteen super fan, or not you have to admit he's good at staying relevant and coming up with fresh ideas for his music!

25 Christmas songs performed by NJ artists

If you celebrate Christmas, the next month of your life is likely going to be consumed with shopping for gifts, retrieving a tree, decorating the house, and going out on adventures to see elaborate light displays.

The one thing that you must have at the ready for all of these scenarios is Christmas music.

Since a lot of the songs you hear tend to get repetitive this time of year, why not pay homage to some of the great singers, bands, and musicians that make New Jersey's music history so rich.
