How Many People Will Travel For Thanksgiving This Year?
AAA projects at least 73 million people in the U.S. will be driving, which is nearly 90% of travelers.
More people are hitting the road this year than they have in several years, with a record 82 million Americans expected to travel during the Thanksgiving holiday, according to a new report from AAA, up nearly 1.6 million from last year.
AAA Newsroom reports:
“Thanksgiving travel numbers are always impressive because this holiday has become synonymous with heading out of town to spend time with loved ones,” said Stacey Barber, Vice President of AAA Travel. “People are willing to brave the crowds and make last-minute adjustments to their plans to make lifelong memories, whether it’s visiting extended family or meeting up with friends.”
The bottom line is, give yourself plenty of extra time to get to where you're heading and drive carefully.
