The Surprising Truth About New Jersey Dental Habits
Going to the dentist isn't always the most enjoyable experience.
Just the sound alone can make people so nervous that they skip their appointments, or even worse, don't schedule one at all.
Yes, brushing your teeth (twice a day and after meals) is extremely important, but it's not enough.

Regular visits to the dentist are essential in maintaining good dental hygiene.
A recent survey by Risas Dental found that 45% of New Jerseyans go for a check-up every six months, while 20% only visit when a problem arises.
That leaves a large percentage of people not going to the dentist at all!

Fear is just one reason some people don't make oral hygiene a top priority.
Cost is another.
If you've ever had dental work done, you know it can be very expensive, and paying for it can be extremely difficult for many.
53% of participants rely on insurance, 27% use credit cards, and 14% dip into their savings.
Here are some other key takeaways from the recent survey: only 42% of people floss daily, and 24% floss regularly.
Women are 13% more likely to floss than men, with 19% of those in the 55-64 age bracket not flossing at all.
And with 77% of participants believing that patients tend to exaggerate about their at-home routine, these numbers could be even worse!
The bottom line is that the more you brush, floss, and go to the dentist regularly, the more money you'll save in the long run.
Maybe it's time to make that appointment if you haven't done so already!
