Happy 61st anniversary, Wawa!

It was on April 16, 1964, that Wawa opened its very first store in Folsom, Pennsylvania.

When I was younger, we didn't have Wawa where I lived in New Jersey, but I remember going away to college in Pennsylvania, and there was one right near campus.

That was my first introduction, and I was hooked!

I would go there all the time for coffee and a soft pretzel.

And now Wawa has just expanded into its 10th state.

Ohio's first Wawa location is in Butler County, and according to local news reports, there was a huge line of customers who camped out overnight to be the very first in the state to try it out!

Take a look at these vintage photos from when Wawa 1st opened.
