I have been inside of the Robert J. Novins Planetarium and I must say, it is a gorgeous facility that can cater to just about any holiday under the sun.

They come up with creative event ideas that are fun for kids and adults of all ages.

And the best part is, you won't be breaking the bank for your tickets.

Novins Planetarium Laser X 90's Grunge Costume Party

Grab your favorite flannel and get ready to relive the 90's! The party will feature all of your favorite grunge hits in lasers. People will be drinking coffee, smashing pumpkin pinatas and challenging others with 90-s trivia.

This event is perfect for young astronomers. Everyone will be joined by everyone's favorite friends from Sesame Street to learn about the big dipper, north star, the sun and the moon. This show is about 25 minutes long and is best for kids between 4 and 6 years old.

Space Aliens: Looking For Life in the Universe

This event seems kinda cool, especially if you are an alien believer. Alien experts -- both "Hopeful" and "Skeptical" -- will face off as they examine eXtra-terrestrial files. They will try to convince each other (and YOU!) that aliens do...or don't...exist. This event requires all attendees be at least 10 years old.

Wonders of the Seasonal Sky

All attendees will get a tour of the current sky that is over New Jersey. Be prepared to ask questions because this event offers A LOT of knowledge.

FYI: The sessions being held on the 12th ad 19th feature a special version titled: Wonders of the Terrifying Sky. The show will feature a Halloween twist with black holes and exploding stars. (Attendees for this version should be 12 years and older)

Trunk or Treat

Toms River Macaroni Kid is partnering with The Jay & Linda Grunin Center for the Arts and the Robert J Novins Planetarium for the 2nd Annual Trunk or Treat.

Put on your best costume, and TRUNK-or-treat in a safe environment with candy, Halloween decorations and you can pick a pumpkin to decorate. There will also be a 30-minute Not-So-Scary Planetarium Show.

New Show: Laser Queen

This show features a layer of heavy metal, add a dash of glam, a pinch of astrophysics and a sprinkle of theatrics! And that is how you will learn about the legendary band, Queen.
