I can already smell the zeppole! The Italian American Association of the Township of Ocean (IAATO) is getting you ready for the 41st Anniversary of the Italian Festival at Joe Palaia Park August 9th through the 13th.

Some of my earliest childhood memories include this traditional festival in Oakhurst. Except back then we referred to it as the “Italian Festival at Deal Test Site.” The name might have changed, but the authentic Italian food, rides, and games are still just as great as ever. We would attend the festival every night for a different meal because there was no way we could sample all of that food in one night. If you weren’t walking around eating some type of festival food, your arms were filled with all the prizes you won from the boardwalk style games. And everyone had their signature bottle of multi-color sand art.

The festival opens daily at 5 p.m. until 11 p.m. with free admission. Take advantage of the discounted Family Ticket Ride Packages available every night of the festival. CLICK HERE for details. Trust me, your kids will remember this experience for years to come.
