Please make sure you are practicing social distancing 24/7 because otherwise, every single thing at the Jersey Shore will be closed within the next few weeks.

And now we can add another closure to the list.

The Mantoloking Bridge County Park and Fishing Pier on Mantoloking Road in Brick is now closed.

This is another case where officials have continuously spotted people crowding at the park which is why they have made this decision.

“This park is a small park and does not provide enough room for social distancing,” said Ocean County Freeholder Virginia E. Haines, who serves as liaison to the Ocean County Department of Parks and Recreation. “Out of an abundance of caution and in accordance with state mandates to help us stop the spread of the coronavirus, we have closed this park entirely to the public. At this time we cannot accommodate large groups of people gathering in our parks.”

In addition, Ocean County has closed their two golf courses, all of their nature centers and public facilities which includes playgrounds, bathrooms, playing fields and more.

“While we want our residents to be able to spend some time outdoors, we need everyone to understand there are restrictions in place and social distancing is required to visit our parks," Haines added.

Officials also declared that if social distancing is not continuously practiced, they will also close all county parks.
