New Jersey Gym Membership Fee On The Rise: What You Need To Know
There are several factors you have to consider before locking yourself into a gym membership.
Gym hours and location are two big ones.
The schedule for group fitness classes is another big one and of course the cost.
Gym members at this very popular New Jersey gym, with several locations throughout the state, will have to dig a little deeper into their pockets starting this summer.
The reason the membership price increase is catching some people by surprise is because this is the first time in 26 years the cost of this gym has gone up.
26 years! The basic membership has been the same since 1998!

Planet Fitness is Raising its Gym Membership Fee
Planet Fitness will raise the price of its Classic Card membership from $10 a month to $15 starting this summer.
They'll also do price testing for its Black Card, which currently costs $24.99 a month.
USA Today states:
"It is not going to come as a shock to anybody that we are moving a price that's been in effect for a long, long time, 25 years," interim CEO Craig Benson said Thursday during a call with analysts about the company's financial results in the first quarter of 2024 (Jan.-March).
"We think it is the right time to do it," he said. "We also think it's the right time to look at different options on the Black Card, which may or may not change."
The price change will go into effect sometime this summer, but no specific date has been scheduled.
