Road Work Finally Begins for Major Intersection in Freehold/Howell
If you live in or frequently drive through the Freehold/Howell area then you are quite familiar with the Halls Mill Road/Rt. 524 intersection.
Many a curse word has been used when anyone gets stuck at this nightmare of an intersection. We live in NJ and everything has to be fast, fast, FASSSSSSSSST.
Who can stand having to slow down and even, God forbid, STOP just because of a narrow, jammed intersection?
I mean, when you are trying to get to Freehold Raceway Mall, you need to get there quickly! (And without the stupid amount of accidents that are always a split second away from happening there.)
Well the bright orange fencing has gone up, along with the sign that the Monmouth County
Freeholders are starting work on this project....finally (although now we all have to worry about how much of a pain in the %$#@@ this intersection will be DURING the construction and how much extra time we'll have to allow if we need to run to Dunkin', Acme, Walgreens, or Rosario's deli for lunch!
This Halls Mill Road and Elton-Adelphia Road (CR 524) Roadway Improvements Project will take place within both Freehold and Howell Townships.
Monmouth County Freeholders say this project will net safety improvements, including realignment and roadway widening, to almost 2 miles of Halls Mill Road, Elton-Adelphia Road and Edinburgh Drive.
Believe it or not, this project has been discussed since the 1980s!!!!!!!
We'll bring you updated details as we get them...but in the meantime...start planning that alternate route!
