The eastbound span that connects Toms River and Seaside Heights has been out of commission since September.

The project isn't completely finished, but construction will be stopped for the summer starting Wednesday, May 10th.

NJ.com reports drivers will find a new bridge deck in place, along with higher railings, and a new draw-bridge component.

After Wednesday, the eastbound Mathis and westbound Tunney bridges will both take three lanes of traffic through the summer, before construction begins again in September for the third and final phase of the project.
