Just in time for 4th of July weekend, the boardwalk in Seaside Heights is about to get a little more patriotic.

Shorebeat.com reports that starting Friday, July 1st, you'll hear the Star-Spangled Banner play daily at 11 a.m.

Wildwood and Ocean City also play the national anthem every day on the boards.

The idea of playing the anthem in Seaside Heights was brought up on the Seaside Heights Boardwalk Facebook page on Sunday night and seem to receive a lot of support. Eventually Borough Administrator Christopher Vaz weighed in, saying,

FYI, a technician from the company that sold the wireless speaker system to the Borough flew in this past week to help us troubleshoot problems we've been having with the speakers. In the course of the service visit he also installed equipment that will now allow us to play pre-recorded music. We will be starting our own National Anthem morning ritual Friday."

I think it's a great idea...I just hope people on the boardwalk will be respectful of it while it is playing!
