In the event Selena's legacy had waned at all since her tragic 1995 death, the Hollywood Walk of Fame is ensuring her star will continue to shine.

The Latin singer, songwriter and activist, whose catalog boasts 60 million album sales, will officially receive a posthumous induction into the monument, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has announced. Selena will receive her star in 2017, and will find a home among more than 2,500 other recipients across 20 blocks.

The Walk of Fame celebrates entertainment's most notable actors, musicians, directors, producers and even some fictional characters.

Amy Adams, Goldie Hawn, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Chris Pratt, Ryan Reynolds, Tyra Banks, Eva Longoria, Sarah Silverman, Ice Cube, John Legend and 'NSYNC will also receive stars as part of the 2017 class.

After releasing four successful studio albums, Selena — 23 at the time — was shot to death by her fan club president, also an employee of her combination salon and clothing store, Selena Etc. Selena's posthumous album, Dreaming of You, debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 just four months later after selling 175,000 copies in a single day (a record at the time for a female artist). Jennifer Lopez later played Selena in 1997 biopic, Selena.
