A Whopping 10 New Stores Including Popular Chain are Set to Open in Howell, NJ
Do you know where the 19 Petroleum gas station and Express Mart are on Route 33 and Colts Neck Rd?
A developer wants to build a huge 25,000 square-foot shopping center there.
According to Asbury Park Press, the building will be L-shaped and Dollar General is interested in being one of the biggest occupants. While the popular discount chain will take up a good portion of real estate, it will still leave room for nine additional businesses.
It's important to note that this project is still very much in the planning stages. Even if the green light is given to build, it will still be a decent amount of time before Dollar General or any new business for that matter is up and running.
News of this possible new addition to the busy intersection in Howell brought up a few questions. First, where is 19 Petroleum and the Express Mart going to go, or are they finished? What's the traffic going to be like if a full-fledged shopping center is up and running? Lastly, what kind of cool retailers, stores, and businesses would we like to see set up shops?

As I type, a virtual meeting is being held by the Howell Planning Board to discuss the future of this project and determine whether it has legs. Watch this space for updates.
